Give them cannon fodder!

Springbok

Not much was known about leopard feeding ecology on Namibian farmland. The most recent Biosphere Expeditions report has changed this and provides practical advice to stakeholder farmers on how to protect their game and livestock, thereby reducing human-predator conflict. In a nutshell, leopards like small, low-value "cannon fodder" antelopes (duikers, springbok, etc.), so stock your ranch with those to protect your valuable game & livestock. Phase 2 is getting this message out into the countryside. > Read report

Creating a Marine Protected Area in Oman

Musandam Peninsula

Biosphere Expedition's work has shown that the Musandam Peninsula (Oman) harbours arguably the best reefs of the region. We will continue to advance our arguments for a Marine Protected Area in Musandam and have recruited some powerful local help. If we can obtain more logistical and financial support, our intention is to open a Muscat project office to see this undertaking through. Wish us luck and watch this space for further developments. > Read report
